Good Morning All!
Today I wanted to be a responsible “beauty reporter” and explain some things about beauty. True beauty. It would be irresponsible of me to leave you with the impression day in and day out that only topical products will help you look & feel better. It’s just not true. Sure they help but, your overall health AND beauty depend greatly on the following factors. Diet, water consumption, exercise and sleep.
Diet plays a major role in how you look and feel. A healthy, balanced diet greatly contributes to the overall health of your skin, hair and nails from the inside out. Eating organic fruits and vegetables free of pesticides, is of course, best for your overall health but can be costly. If you have the space, research planting your own garden or starting a small green house of your very own homegrown goodness. 🙂
My usual breakfast now consists of organic flax waffles for breakfast with tea or coffee and a piece of fruit. For a great start to your day, look for foods high in protein and fiber for breakfast. It truly is the most important meal of the day.
Drinking more water and walking are also essential to good health and contribute to healthy skin and hair. Drinking more water and taking a brisk walk around the neighborhood after dinner are two easy, basic and great ways to start on the road to healthier habits. Dehydrated skin can become irritated, produce rashes and become more prone to eczema. Our bodies need to sweat toxins through our skin. Staying hydrated ensures that your body has enough fluids to sweat out those built up toxins effectively. When we are chronically dehydrated, (which most of us are) the sweat becomes more concentrated and toxins aren’t removed from our systems as readily. This toxic build up can lead to problem skin conditions such as acne, dry spots, general skin irritation, inflammation and even infection.
Walking gets your blood circulating which benefits your body as a whole. Blood carries the oxygen to your organs and brain. So get that all important oxygen moving through you for clarity of thought and a healthier skin, heart and lungs! Walking not only conditions the heart and lungs, but also burns calories! That’s great news right? Walking alleviates stress, stimulates digestion and elimination, and expels stale air and carbon dioxide from the lungs. Whatever your age or condition, there is a pace and style of walking that will leave you feeling more refreshed and energized. When walking try to breathe deeply and concentrate on relaxing your mind. It’s a great stress reliever as well as a super way to get fit and toned.
Sleep is very important for your overall health, physically, mentally and for skin and hair health as well! Beauty sleep is not a myth. Sleep does lessen the severity of wrinkles in the face and neck, at least temporarily. Your skin renews and rejuvenates during the sleep cycle and peaks about 2 AM. Read here for more detailed information about beauty sleep and it’s benefits.
The last thing that I’d like to add is an intangible ingredient. The ingredient of attitude. Having an “attitude of gratitude” will take you far and truly produce joy in your life. Being grateful for even the small things in your life and giving thanks are enormous ways to combat depression and stress which can be as debilitating as any disease.
Well, that’s what I wanted to share for today. I hope you enjoyed my article and realize that I truly care about your overall well-being. Like I say, you’re the only one of you on Earth! You are rare, unique and precious! So take good care of you OK Beauty? 🙂
Have a Beautiful Day & All The Best To You!!!
