*YAWN* Mornin’ All!
*Stretch*….I’ll be right there..hang on…. sorry… had to stretch and breathe deep with a good hard yawn…
During this time of year, I feel like night blends into day and vice versa far too easily. I find myself more tired and lazy in the Fall and Winter. So I do a few things to keep myself more perky and awake. Afterall, your mental state of mind is very important to your overall health as well. So here’s my “routine” I confess I do not do this daily like I should but I try to do it as often as I can.
Relax and keep breathing deeply through your nose then out your mouth for about 2 minutes. This will get your circulation going and supply a rush of oxygen to your brain for increased clarity of thought.
Once your tootsies actually hit the floor, stretch again reach to the sky then down to the floor. OK now it’s scrubby time.
After brushing and flossing, cleanse your face with a mild facial cleanser like rose water cleanser or a super fatted soap (cold processed soap rich in beneficial oils) like olive oil soap or goat milk soap for a great natural clean that will not dry your skin.
Next follow-up with a great moisturizer with sunscreen. Of course, keep it as natural as possible. If you are a shower-in the morning person, you can use the soaps and oil all over face and body. Personally, I’m a shower at night before bed person so this part of the routine, I do at night.
After stretching, breathing and cleansing, head to the kitchen for a healthy breakfast. Give thanks for what you have. An attitude of gratitude goes a long way to produce true joy and contentment in your life.
Practice random acts of kindness and senseless beauty often. Give yourself a ‘time out’ daily even if it’s for 15 to 20 minutes – do something beautiful for yourself. Make a list of short-term goals and plan to achieve them.
All of these tips will produce a happier, healthier you during these darker months of the year. Soon you will not notice the night and day blend, It’ll always be sunny in your own little piece of the world 🙂
