Hubby and I went on a “covert” mission this past Saturday to check out two other outdoor selling venues to see if they would be worthwhile. First we stopped by Columbus Farmer’s Market in New Jersey. It was about 10:00AM when we arrived. I almost could hear crickets chirping. We walked around the indoor market for a bit and did not see anything that we would be interested in buying (not good). We decided to take a look outside and it was much of the same…
So we got into the car and made our way to our next stop. Rice’s Flea Market in Solebury, PA. When we arrived, there was a line to get in, $1.00 fee to park and people EVERYWHERE! So we happily made our way through the crowds, looking at this and that and made a few purchases.
I scoped out the competition and was surprised at the lack of um… “presentation” everything was sort of haphazardly laid out and the products were misshapen, small, not carefully wrapped and had hardly any smell!
I am very particular about the presentation of my products. Each one made with care and tested thoroughly before being released for sale!
I walked away shaking my head, sorry for them but, happy for me 🙂
I am excited that we have decided to become regular vendors on Saturdays at Rice’s Market as well.
This season is almost over but it will give me time to at least sell up until Christmas and prepare for the crowds in the Spring! We’ll also continue to sell on Sundays at The Philadelphia Flea Market in Trevose, PA. until the last week of December as well.
Today I’ll be busily formulating more goodies, making the products that sold, photographing and listing my new Christmas Spa Gift Baskets and researching our “touring schedule” of all of the Craft Fairs and Festivals this Spring & Summer. Yes! we’re taking THE Eco-Chic Boutique on the road! Yeah!!! 🙂
I’ll publish our schedule once we are “locked in” Thanks so very much for reading! and Hope to see you soon!
Have a Beautiful Day & All The Best To You!!!
