I don’t know about your neck of the woods but here in PA, we’ve been experiencing some really wacky weather patterns! One day it will be 50 degrees and sunny, the next, a gray day with 2 to 4 inches of snow. This morning I woke up to the latter condition outside my window.
So I decided to post two great recipes one to warm your insides and one to keep your outsides looking great no matter what it decides to dish up outside 🙂
The first recipe is for amazing roasted veggie soup. Easy to make and hearty for your soul!
Recipe: Delicious Roasted Veggies Soup
This is a thick, creamy (using no actual cream), delicious soup! The roasted veggies take about an hour but you can do this the day before to save time. After the veggies are all roasted, it takes only a few minutes til soup’s on!
- 1 sweet potato or yam – sliced
- 1 red pepper, cut in half and seeded
- 1 green pepper cut in half, seeded
- 2 medium-sized potatoes – sliced
- 1 large white or yellow onion – cut into quarters
- 5 cloves garlic – peeled
- 1 large carrot – sliced
Mix all marinade ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.
Place all the vegetables in a large mixing bowl. Toss with the marinade until coated. Make sure you use a large mixing bowl to accommodate all veggies and have plenty of room to toss ‘em around and coat them completely.
Place all of the vegetables on a large baking tray or stone. Bake at 350 degrees for approx. 1 hour or until vegetables are tender and soft.
Place all your delicious veggies in a food processor or blender, add hot water or chicken stock to thin to desired consistency. Heat & Serve. Add ground sea salt and pepper to taste.

Now for the beauty recipe that’s sure to keep your face glowing even in the harshest weather!
Sweet Roses Facial Mask
- 4 Tbsp. Oatmeal
- 2 Tbsp. Rose Water
- 2 Tbsp. Honey
- 1 Tbsp. Yogurt
- 3 Drops Rose Essential Oil
The How To Of It All:
Combine the oatmeal, honey and yogurt. Stir well and wait until the oats soften and begin to break apart. Creamy consistency is achieved by adjusting the amount of rose water used. Add your rose essential oil last.
After mixing well, spread the mask over your clean face and neck and relax for 10-15 minutes. When the mask is dry, rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Your skin will be, renewed, refreshed and revitalized!
